Amitabh Bachchan is not only a superstar but also a living legend. Amitabh is one of the finest actors Bollywood has seen in decades. While Sr Bachchan has done hundreds of films from romantic to action to comedy, the angry young man has given us hope that just like films we must expect a happy ending in our real life too.
Today, on his birthday, let’s go back in time, mark all those films of Big B which gives us the motivation to move ahead.
102 Not Out:
A film where 102-year-old Dattatray Vakharia’s (Amitabh Bachchan’s) zeal for a fulfilling life is never ending. Although his son (Rishi Kapoor) loses all the hopes of living at the age of 75. Big B’s energetic act throughout the film have asked me question that at the age of 26, ‘Am I living my life as happy as he does in the film?’. I know the film isn’t about it, but it surely is about the fact that you’re supposed to live in the present and live as happy as you could leaving all the worries behind. This definitely is one of my immediately-change-my-mood-into-fun films.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan:
The film that kind of revolutionised the usage of double roles in Bollywood. In the most entertaining way, Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda portrayed double roles and gifted us one of the most funniest films of the industry. This was the film that gave lovers the idea of hotel and disco to ‘ladao some Ishq’. Pick it up anytime, any scene, this still promises a refreshing comical nostalgia.
A film solely based on Bhaskor’s (Amitabh Bachchan) constipation. Like seriously! Yes it is. If not Amitabh Bachchan then I don’t know what would make us all stick to the film till the end. I mean imagine he’s talking about his constipation and we’re not ewwing but laughing.
Bunty Aur Babli:
Playing a hard-edged police commissioner, Amitabh Bachchan became the attraction of this Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji starrer. This film is one of those light hearted rom-com, where Mr. Bachchan will take all the comedy attention and make you believe that he can carry any character he wants with all the charm he has got.
You know there are a few films which you’re never bored of watching. Bhoothnath for me is one of those. Watch it from the start, start it from the middle or just sob at the emotional end scene, this movie has and will always be special for me and I’m sure for a lot of children out there too.
Happy Birthday legend.
