Despite the delayed release of his debut film Maharaja, Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son, has managed to secure roles in two additional movies. One of them is a remake of the popular 2022 Tamil film Love Today, in which he will star alongside Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of the late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. This project is scheduled to start filming in the coming year. Furthermore, Junaid has also committed to a love story set in Japan, produced by his own father, Aamir Khan. Although the details of this venture are now available, it showcases Junaid’s rapidly growing acting career.
Junaid Khan Stars in a Unique Love Story With a Supernatural Twist.
A unique cinematic project is in the works for Junaid Khan in collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions. This upcoming film will combine elements of a slice-of-life love story with a supernatural twist. Junaid will portray the character of an insurance investigator who forms an emotional connection with the spirit of a woman who is in a coma. The director Sunil Pandey, who has a longstanding partnership with Aamir Khan and has contributed to the making of films like Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Delhi Belly, and Laal Singh Chaddha, will helm this as-yet-unnamed movie. Currently in the pre-production phase, the filming is scheduled to commence in Japan, potentially in October or November. While the main female lead has not been confirmed yet, the project’s unique premise and team highlight Junaid’s exciting entry into the world of cinema.
Sunil Pandey, known for his association with Aamir Khan Productions, is stepping into his second directorial endeavor with Junaid Khan’s upcoming film. This comes after his directorial debut, Pritam Pyaare, which is also produced by Aamir Khan Productions. In his first film, Pandey delivered a distinctive tale of two brothers set in a quaint small town, featuring Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj Sood in pivotal roles. In addition to Pritam Pyaare, Aamir Khan Productions has a trio of other projects in progress. These include Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, showcasing Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel, and set to premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. Furthermore, RS Prasanna’s adaptation of Campeones, starring Farhan Akhtar, is scheduled to begin shooting in November 2023. Apart from these, Aamir is backing a film starring Fatima Sana Shaikh as the lead, although specific details about this venture are yet to be disclosed.
Aamir Khan’s Next Steps Post-Laal Singh Chaddha
Currently, Aamir Khan is in a phase of careful consideration when it comes to selecting his next acting venture. Following the somewhat disappointing performance of Laal Singh Chaddha, the renowned actor has opted to take a measured approach. His plans involve commencing work on his upcoming film not until the year 2024. Speculation abounds about a potential collaboration between Aamir and his trusted directors from the hit films 3 Idiots and PK, namely Rajkumar Hirani, for a biographical project. Nevertheless, this collaboration is still at the stage of deliberation. Moreover, there have been reports indicating discussions between Aamir Khan and Allu Aravind regarding the prospect of Ghajini 2. However, as of now, there have been no concrete developments on this front.
