Aamir Khan is currently immersed in filming his highly anticipated movie Sitaare Zameen Par. However, reports suggest that the planned shooting schedule in Delhi has been significantly reduced due to the increasing expenses associated with filming in the city.
This trend is not unique to Sitaare Zameen Par, as other film productions like Raid 2 and Ulajh have also chosen to film in smaller cities instead of Delhi. Why? Scroll down to know!
Sitaare Zameen Par, Raid 2 To Be Shot In THESE Cities Now Instead Of Delhi
The highly anticipated film, Sitaare Zameen Par, has seen a significant cut in its Delhi shooting schedule due to escalating costs in the capital city for movie productions.
According to reports from Hindustan Times, the Delhi shoot initially planned for a month will now be condensed to only 8-10 days in July.
This decision to reduce the Delhi shoot is not unique to Sitaare Zameen Par alone. Other productions like Raid 2 and Ulajh have also opted to relocate their shoots to smaller cities such as Bhopal and Lucknow.
For instance, Ulajh, starring Janhvi Kapoor, shifted its shooting location to Bhopal after exceeding its budget during filming in London.
Similarly, the team behind Raid 2, featuring Ajay Devgn, shot crucial scenes in Delhi for four days before moving the production to Lucknow for 47 days, where they recreated Delhi’s settings.
This shift was motivated by the availability of subsidies and quicker permissions in Lucknow, making it a preferred destination for filmmakers.
The decision to move away from Delhi is influenced by the significant expenses associated with shooting in the capital. Costs for locations like Rajiv Chowk and the international airport are exorbitant, with hourly rates ranging from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs for just four hours.
Additionally, expenses for permits, parking, and security personnel further inflate production budgets.
In contrast, cities like Bhopal and Lucknow offer cost-effective shooting alternatives, coupled with subsidies and smoother administrative processes.
These factors have made them attractive destinations for filmmakers seeking to manage production costs without compromising on quality.
