Adil Hussain LAUGHS At Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Claim That Kabir Singh Brought Him More Fame Than His Entire Career: ‘God Bless Him For Counting My Films’

Adil Hussain reacts to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s claim that Kabir Singh brought him the fame. Check what he said!

Adil Hussain has responded to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recent comment suggesting that Kabir Singh brought him more fame than his entire career. In a candid interview with India Today NE, Hussain addressed Vanga’s claim with a mix of humour and bewilderment.

Adil Hussain Expressed Surprise On Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Claims

“I can’t believe he actually counted my films,” Hussain said, expressing his surprise at the filmmaker’s remark. He referenced renowned directors Mira Nair and Ang Lee, questioning if their fame is somehow lesser. “If Ang Lee is less famous than him or Mira Nair is less famous, then I have nothing to say. Ang Lee was an Oscar winner before Life of Pi,” Hussain added.

The actor clarified that his earlier criticism of Kabir Singh was not aimed at Vanga personally. “So, God bless Sandeep Reddy Vanga for taking the time to count the films I’ve done. I understand he’s upset about what I said, but I’ve never blamed him,” Hussain stated.

Hussain admitted he had not read the entire script of Kabir Singh before accepting the role, a decision he now regrets. “It’s my fault, and when I watched the film, I realised that I made a big blunder,” he confessed. Despite the misstep, Hussain emphasised that he has no ill will towards Vanga.

Adil Husain Says He Will Criticise Any Film That Glorifies Violence & Misogyny

During the interview, Hussain also discussed the impact of cinema on society. He expressed concerns about films that glorify violence and misogyny, stressing the responsibility of filmmakers to consider the audience’s “innocence and intellectual level.” “If you make a movie that glorifies violence and misogyny, I will always retain my right to criticise you,” he remarked.

Hussain previously revealed in an interview with AP Podcast that he had accepted the role in Kabir Singh without fully understanding the script and had walked out of the cinema just 20 minutes into the film’s premiere.
