The trailer of Sikandar was released today – Sunday, March 23 – in a grand fashion in a multiplex in Mumbai. One of the posters put up outside this multiplex stated that the advance booking of the film will be thrown open two days from now, that is, Tuesday, March 25.
Last week, we were first to inform that Sikandar is being distributed by Pen Marudhar and Tips Films has now come on board as a co-distributor. They will be aiding Pen Marudhar with the release of this much-awaited Eid film. Kumar Taurani of Tips exclusively confirmed this development.
Speaking of the trailer launch, the event was attended by superstar Salman Khan, actors Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj and Anjini Dhawan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director A R Murugadoss.
Regarding the unconventional Sunday release, a source told us, “Sikandar’s release date has been locked. It’ll arrive in cinemas on Sunday, March 30. The makers are confident that it’s the correct day for release. Sunday will be a big holiday, more so in Maharashtra as Gudi Padwa falls on that day. Meanwhile, Ramzan Eid will be celebrated on Monday, March 31. There’ll be a post-Eid holiday effect on Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2 in many centres as well. The collections will again see a jump from Friday, April 4. Hence, until Sunday, April 6, the film’s collections will remain very strong.”
Sikandar Trailer Out Now
The much-awaited trailer of Salman Khan‘s upcoming Eid release, Sikandar, is out. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the trailer promises a full-blown masala actioner, set to unfold on the big screens on March 30. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
The three-minute-38-second-long trailer, much like the teaser, is high on two things: dialoguebaazi, reminiscent of 80s and 90s Hindi films, and intense action. Salman is a killing machine on a mission to fight against injustice. Sathyaraj appears to be essaying the role of a corrupt politician, while Rashmika plays Salman’s love interest.
