“You Fight, I Dance!” – Ajay Devgn & Jackie Chan’s Virtual Banter Sets the Tone for Karate Kid: Legends

Ajay Devgn and Jackie Chan share a light-hearted virtual exchange ahead of Karate Kid: Legends release, teasing fans with charm, Bollywood banter, and a special Yug Devgn surprise!

As anticipation builds for the release of Karate Kid: Legends in Indian cinemas on May 30, 2023, Sony Pictures Entertainment India has also surprised the world by releasing a delightful, kooky virtual interaction between Ajay Devgn and Jackie Chan!

In a cheeky promo video released by the studio, superstar Jackie Chan, who reprises the role of Mr Han, introduces Ajay Devgn with his exciting style. Jackie Chan, the global martial arts icon, playfully comments:

“You fight, I dance,”

subtly hinting that he would like to do a Bollywood film with Ajay Devgn — this time with more of a graceful beat to it instead of a kick!

Ajay, who is providing the voice of Mr Han for the Hindi dubbed version of Karate Kid: Legends, and Jackie Chan enjoy some light banter and have a comfortable rapport, keeping it light and entertaining both for the fans of Ajay and Jackie Chan. The interaction is nostalgic, yet endearing enough to keep fans of both industries eager for more.

In a Fun Devgn Family Spin

In a fun Devgn family spin to this already busy promo, Yug Devgn is playing the character Li Fong (played by Ben Wang originally) in the new Karate Kid: Legends.

This indeed is Yug’s first ever official project, which makes the Devgn-Chan collaboration all the more special.

More To Come

The full video interview will be out tomorrow, where we can expect more fun and cultural crossover nuggets. For now, this teaser is just enough to get us pumped — not just for the film but for what’s cooking up to be one of 2025’s best promotional collabs.

What is Karate Kid: Legends

The film unites two generations of Karate Kid mentors — Jackie Chan‘s Mr Han and Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso — as they guide a new student, navigating issues of self-discovery and martial arts character building.

With action, emotional stakes, and connections with legacy characters, this is one of Sony’s big summer releases.

In English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, the film is well placed to attract a wide-ranging Indian audience, especially with Ajay and Yug’s input as local voices.

Box Office Worldwide Verdict

Ajay Devgn’s understated charm + Jackie Chan’s enduring charisma = cultural magic!

This unexpected collab from Devgn-Chan before Karate Kid: Legends is a great way to not just heighten excitement around the release but also change the game on promotional collaboration creativity.

We applaud Yug’s move into the dubbing world, and I think we can all agree — this is a family affair worth cheering.
