Ajay Devgn is set to dive into an action-adventure role with his upcoming film Ranger, directed by Jagan Shakti. After finishing his current project, De De Pyaar De 2, he will begin shooting Ranger in December.
This is a rare move for Devgn, as he has not taken on many action-adventure roles in his 33-year career
Filming To Be Done In North Indian Forest
The film is currently in pre-production, and Devgn will play a state forest officer on a quest for a legendary relic. The film, expected to be a big-budget franchise, has drawn comparisons to classics like Indiana Jones. The plot is said to be rooted in folklore and mythology, with Devgn’s character focused on protecting nature and wildlife.
Sources told mid-day that the director has already completed a recce, and four shooting locations have been chosen. Filming is expected to take place in a forest in North India, bringing an authentic feel to the adventure. Devgn is reportedly excited about the project and has dedicated the early months of 2025 to it.
Ajay Devgn To Channel Harrison Ford In Ranger?
One big highlight of Ranger is Devgn’s new look. The actor will adopt a rugged, weathered appearance similar to Harrison Ford’s iconic style in Indiana Jones. The costume team is working on finalising the look to match the harsh, wild environment of the film.
The film promises a thrilling and visually stunning journey, with Devgn playing the lead role as a determined forest officer. Ranger will give him a chance to try something new and offer fans a fresh, action-packed experience.
Devgn hopes to complete filming by early 2025, after which he will take on a South Indian project.
