Akshay Kumar is back with another powerhouse performance and fans are loving it. The trailer for his upcoming historical drama Kesari Chapter 2 dropped on April 3, and it has already grabbed huge attention across social media.
In just 24 hours, the trailer crossed 130 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian movie trailers of the year.

The film, set to release on April 18, has created massive buzz. The trailer launch event in Delhi saw a thunderous response from fans, critics, and the film industry.
On YouTube alone, the promo pulled in 20.70 million views with more than 263K likes, strengthening its spot among the most anticipated releases of the year. It has been trending in top spots on YouTube India since its debut.
About The Trailer
The gripping trailer sets the stage for a dramatic courtroom battle between Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan. Akshay plays Sir C Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer who took on the British Raj to uncover the truth behind the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Madhavan plays the opposing counsel, representing the Crown in court. The intense exchanges between them bring the historical battle for justice to life.
The film also stars Ananya Panday in a pivotal role. She portrays one of the first Indian women to study law at a time when it was considered a man’s profession. Her character adds another layer of strength to the film’s narrative.
At the trailer launch, Akshay spoke about his commitment to bringing real Indian history to the big screen. He said in Punjabi, “I want to bring out the valour and things which India has done and have done it earlier which we don’t know because in our history books, it is not written. Because our history books are written from the perspective of angrez (Englishmen). I wanted to bring the actual history of India through this film.”
More About The Film
Kesari Chapter 2 is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It dives deep into the legal battle led by C Sankaran Nair, a legendary barrister who stood against the British to demand accountability for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, where over 1,600 people lost their lives.
Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films are backing the project. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Kesari, but the battle unfolds in the courtroom instead of the battlefield this time.
