Alia Bhatt is taking the lead in a new, female-driven movie in the renowned YRF Spy Universe. Joining her in this action-packed thriller is Sharvari Wagh. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film has now been officially titled Alpha, and filming has already started.

YRF Announces The Title Of Alia Bhatt & Sharvari’s Film
The title, Alpha, was officially announced on July 5, along with the news that filming has already begun. So, why was this tile chosen?
According to the media reports, a source close to YRF said, “This is YRF’s clear attempt to challenge the societal belief that only men can be Alphas.”
The announcement came with a video hinting at the thrilling chaos Alia and Sharvari will bring to the big screen in this exciting spy thriller.
In the announcement video, we here Alia’s voiceover saying: “Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar aur humare program ka motive. Sabse pehle, sabse tez, sabse veer. Dhyan se dekho toh har sheher me ek jungle hai aur jungle me hamesha raj karega alpha.”

Filming For Alpha Started Today
Aditya Chopra is going all out to make the first female-led YRF Spy Universe film, Alpha, an action-packed spectacle. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the spy thriller has started filming today.
The title Alpha marks a major shift for the action series, which has previously focused on male leads, although it featured strong female characters.
Created by producer and YRF chair Aditya Chopra, the spy universe began with the Tiger franchise, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, starting with Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).
It continued with War (2019), featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, was a massive hit in 2023, along with Tiger 3.
