The teaser for Maa Kaali is out! Produced by People Media Factory and directed by Vijay Yelakanti, the film boldly delves into forgotten history by shedding light on the horrors of Direct Action Day and the Naokhali Massacres.

Featuring Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh, the recently released teaser vividly revisits the tragic events that ignited the partition of India and left indelible scars on Bengal.

Set for release this year, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of these tragic events, Maa Kaali aims to honour the lives lost during the ruthless genocide. It delves deep into the conspiracy, riots, and political machinations that ignited one of the 20th century’s largest human crises, leaving a lasting impact on the region and beyond.

Maa Kaali Teaser Exposes The Brutalities Hindus Faced In 1946 Bengal

The teaser bravely confronts these historical wounds through the lens of a Hindu family, exposing the motives, processes, and aftermath of the partition demand.

With a poignant call to “Unplug the earphones. Let the Truth be Heard, LOUD and CLEAR,” the film promises to provoke reflection and awareness among audiences.

About The Film

Written and directed by Vijay Yelakanti, Maa Kaali is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, co-produced by Vivek Kuchibhotla, and presented by People Media Factory, known for their recent work in Karthikeya 2. Shot in Hindi, the film will also be released in Bengali and Telugu, promising a pan-Indian cinematic experience when it hits theatres in 2024.

Actress Raima Sen, deeply moved by her Bengali roots, expressed, “The story of Maa Kaali resonates profoundly with the atrocities faced by our people during the massacre. Even as a Bengali, I discovered many heart-wrenching details about this event through this film, making it a moral duty for me to bring its truth to light.”

Former IAS officer turned actor Abhishek Singh added, ” Maa Kaali sheds light on one of the most pivotal yet lesser-known chapters of our history. It’s crucial to raise awareness about this monstrous tragedy that continues to remain shrouded in mystery.”
