Ameesha Patel has spoken up about the age gap between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar. The topic sparked debate after Salman addressed it at the film’s trailer launch. Ameesha, who has worked with an older co-star before, shared her thoughts on the issue.
Ameesha Patel Has THIS To Say About Sikandar’s Age Gap Debate
At a recent event in Mumbai, Ameesha recalled her experience working with Sunny Deol. She pointed out that they have an 18-year age gap but still delivered two major hits, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2.
The actress told IANS, “Me and Sunny Ji (Sunny Deol) also have a huge age gap – more than 20 years, but when the film works, everything is forgiven.”
The debate began when Salman acknowledged the 31-year age gap between him and Rashmika in Sikandar. At the trailer launch, he spoke about it in his usual style.
She said, “I have a 31-year age difference between me and the heroine. The heroine doesn’t have this problem. The heroine’s father doesn’t have this problem.” He then turned to Rashmika and asked, “You don’t have this problem, right?”
Age gaps between lead actors have been a long-standing trend in Indian cinema. Many actors have played romantic leads opposite much younger actresses. Some fans argue that it looks unrealistic, while others believe that chemistry and performance matter more.

The film also features Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor.
