Chehre, a thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, was set for a cinema release earlier this year. The film’s makers released a theatrical trailer in anticipation of a big screen release on April 9, however the preparations were thrown out owing to the second pandemic wave. Now the producers have resumed conversations concerning the film’s release date.

“Chehre team will make an official announcement about the release date within a week. At first, they were contemplating to bring the film on August 12, however, now they are toying with the idea of releasing on August 27 or September 3. The film has shaped up well and the team is confident of a good theatrical business on the basis of word-of-mouth publicity,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.

A marketing strategy is also being developed. After the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom, Chehre would be the second Hindi film to hit the big screen following the second wave of pandemic. The espionage thriller starring Akshay Kumar is set to hit Indian theatres on August 19th.

In the meantime, we’re waiting for the Chehre team to finalise the release date and make an announcement. Rhea Chakraborty, Annu Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, and others are among the cast members of the thriller.
