Pathan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is now under production. Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia also feature in the film. Another well-known actor has now joined the cast. In Pathan, Ashutosh Rana will reprise his role as a top RAW official, which he performed in the Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff film War. Kapadia is the head of India’s foreign intelligence organisation, while SRK portrays a RAW officer.
Ashutosh Rana’s casting fits into Aditya Chopra’s larger vision for his espionage thriller, which includes a multi-crossover. Colonel Sunil Luthra, RAW joint secretary, was played by Ashutosh in War. He just finished filming key scenes with Dimple Kapadia and Shah Rukh Khan.

According to a tabloid, the actor would be the mastermind alongside Kapadia, who will be in charge of the mission that will pit SRK against John Abraham. The goal is to keep them on as senior authorities in future thriller projects.
Meanwhile, the search for a suitable replacement for Salman Khan’s boss in Tiger 3 is underway. The position of RAW chief, Dr. Shenoy, was formerly played by playwright-actor Girish Karnad. The crossover is part of a larger picture that includes Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan participating in each other’s films, as well as plans to feature in War 2 and other films.
