’83, directed by Kabir Khan, has been making headlines since its announcement. Not once, but twice, the highly anticipated sports drama has been postponed. It was originally scheduled to be released on April 10, 2020, but due to the second wave of the Covid- 19 crisis, it was put back to June 4, 2021. Actor Ammy Virk, on the other hand, believes the wait is worthwhile.
Ammy will be seen essaying the role of Balvinder Singh Sandhu in the film, he says, “This was going to happen somewhere sometime and also it is going to come someday so there is no worry. The film is going to be good so there is no problem.”
“There has been a lot of hard work put in the film, the cast, Kabir as a director, Ranveer, the whole production team has given their best. All the 14 and the original players of the team during the World Cup, each and every person has given their time to this movie. Also, Balu Sir whose character I am playing has guided the team and has given all the coaching to the team so a lot of work in a positive way has been done. So I hope that the release will also be done in a good way and that’s what we all are expecting and hoping for,” he added.
Revealing about the release date of the film, the Bhuj actor says, “Most probably how much I know is that it is going to be this Christmas other than that I don’t know anything.”
According to recent reports, ace cricketer Kapil Dev would join the crew to promote the movie. The Men in Blue are played by Ranveer Singh, R Badree, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Saahil Khattar, and Saqib Saleem. Deepika Padukone co-stars alongside Ranveer Singh in the sports drama.
