Andaz Apna Apna Re-release: Makers Of Aamir Khan-Salman Khan Starrer Add DELETED Song ‘Shola Shola’ For Fans, 500+ Screen Debut Planned

Andaz Apna Apna returns to cinemas on April 25 with a remastered version and the additional deleted song 'Shola Shola'.

Andaz Apna Apna is making a grand return to theatres on April 25, 2024, marking its 30th anniversary. The 1994 comedy, starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, will offer fans a special treat. It will feature a deleted song “Shola Shola,” which has been added back into the film.

During a recent interview, the children of the late producer Vinay Sinha, Priti, Amod, and Namrata Sinha, shared their excitement and challenges in bringing the film back to the big screen.

Andaz Apna Apna Cast Skipped Film’s Premiere

Priti recalled the struggles of getting the cast involved during the original release. She told Bollywood Hungama, “Most of the actors were out of town when the film was released. Aamir bhai and Salman sir were quite busy. They were at the peak of their careers, and getting them for interviews was impossible. They had so many commitments.”

Amod shared a funny incident about the film’s premiere.  He revealed, “Nobody was available for the premiere because everyone was shooting or travelling. Only Meenakshi Seshadri turned up. She wasn’t even in the film. (laughed)”  The premiere was held at Metro Cinema and ended up being a quiet event as many key cast members, including director Rajkumar Santoshi, were absent

Despite the absence of the star cast, Namrata said their father stayed positive. She shared, “He had a lot of friends in the income tax and customs departments, so they came. Plus, many of our relatives attended. It was a celebration of a film made with love and struggle.”

Re-Release Brings Back Deleted Song & More

The re-release of Andaz Apna Apna will feature updated visuals. The film has been remastered in 4K, with a new Dolby 5.1 sound system to enhance the experience for fans. Namrata said, “Watching Andaz Apna Apna in theatres again will be a treat.”

The film will initially be shown in 530 theatres, and there are plans to expand the number of screens if needed. Amod explained, “It’s better to start with a smaller number and increase if needed.”

A big surprise for fans is the return of the song “Shola Shola,” which didn’t make it into the original cut. Priti revealed, “Before the film starts, we’ve added an opening credit sequence with the people who helped make the re-release happen. The song ‘Shola Shola’ plays in the background during this sequence. It’s a special treat for fans.”

The soundtrack has also been reworked, with Tips releasing a remastered version that’s being promoted across radio channels. Special acknowledgements have been added for brand partners like Mumbai Indians, who’ve supported the film’s re-release.
