Tamannaah Bhatia is making headlines for her upcoming projects that reflect her film choices. After grabbing attention with her peppy dance number in Raid 2 and reportedly bagging a role in No Entry 2, it looks like she has now signed another major project.
Tamannaah Bhatia In Rakesh Maria Biopic?
As per a Peeping Moon report, She will star in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming biopic based on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. John Abraham plays the lead, and Tamannaah will step in as his wife, Preeti Maria.
A source close to the project shared, “Preeti has been a constant pillar of strength for Rakesh, supporting him through some of the most dangerous and testing moments of his career and taking care of their family while he was at the forefront of protecting the city from terrorists. Her role is integral to his narrative, and Tamannaah is thrilled and honoured to bring this character to life.”
Tamannaah earlier played John’s wife in a cameo role in Vedaa. But this time, her role is much bigger and more meaningful.
More About This John Abraham Starrer Biopic Drama
The story takes inspiration from Rakesh Maria’s autobiography Let Me Say It Now. It marks Rohit Shetty’s first time telling a real story, after years of making fictional cop dramas.
The film covers Maria’s 36-year journey in the force. It includes major cases like the 1993 Mumbai blasts, the 26/11 terror attacks, the Indian Mujahideen crackdown, and the Sheena Bora murder case. While John plays the tough cop, Tamannaah brings the emotional side of his life to the screen.
The team started shooting this week in Mumbai. They plan to shoot across 40 locations, including CST Station, Dongri, and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
The makers aim to wrap the shoot by August. They are planning a theatrical release early next year. An official announcement will drop soon.
