Ratheesh Reghunandan directed and Gokulam Gopalan produced Malayalam film Udal starring Durga Krishna, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Indrans, released in May this year. It has a remake coming in Hindi which will star Naseeruddin Shah as a leading role. He will act as Indrans’ character playing a disabled role in the drama thriller.
“The makers are presently working on the pre-production of the film and are planning to start shooting soon. Naseeruddin Shah’s character is being well-designed and the team is in the hope that audience will like a new shade of him,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
Udal received mixed responses after its release. However, it’s important to note films like Jersey, Hit, which are recent remakes, didn’t perform well. They failed in spite of having prominent actors.
Apparently, it indicates how the audience didn’t like those, which could be possible with the Hindi remake of Malayalam film Udal (which refers to body). The story revolves around a daughter-in-law who takes care of her unwell mother-in-law.
