Varun Dhawan recently visited Indian soldiers on Army Day 2025. Taking a break from shooting for Border 2, he met soldiers and spent time with them. He also shared photos on Instagram & called them the “real heroes” of India.
Varun Dhawan Meets Soldiers On Army Day Amid Border 2 Shoot Prep
In one of the pictures, Varun is seen standing beside a military tank. He captioned his post, “Honoring the real heroes of India this #ArmyDay. Proud to be with them. 🧶🇮🇳 #Border2 #prep.”
Sunny Deol (who also stars in Border 2) also posted a video, where he was seen chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ with the army men. He also shared photos of playing games and interacting with the troops.
Sunny wrote, “Then, Now and Forever. Saluting the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our heroes. Happy Indian Army Day! #HindustanZindabad #ArmyDay.”
For those unaware, Army Day is observed on January 15 & marks the day in 1949 when Lieutenant General Kodandera M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief, replacing British General Francis Roy Bucher. The day is celebrated with parades and military displays to honour the armed forces.
About Border 2
Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 war film Border, which was based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The sequel will focus on the 1999 Kargil War. It was announced on June 13, 2024, marking 27 years since the original film.
The movie is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under T-Series and JP Films. The film aims to depict the Kargil War through action and emotion. It is expected to deliver a gripping war story on the big screen.
