Vishnu Manchu, the President of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), has officially taken a stand against Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi over controversial comments about the film Kalki 2898 AD and its lead actor, Prabhas.
In a letter addressed to Poonam Dhillon, President of the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA), Manchu voiced his deep disappointment with Warsi’s remarks, which he believes have disrespected and hurt the sentiments of the Telugu film community.
Vishnu Manchu Demands CINTAA’s Intervention In Arshad Warsi-Prabhas Controversy
In his letter, Manchu conveyed the collective dismay of the Telugu film fraternity at Warsi’s disparaging comments. He acknowledged the freedom of speech but emphasised that public figures must tread carefully. “Words have power, and they can either build bridges or create rifts,” Manchu stated. He underscored that Warsi’s comments have stirred unnecessary negativity among cinema lovers and within the industry.
Manchu called on CINTAA to advise Arshad Warsi to avoid making such remarks about fellow actors in the future. He stressed the need for maintaining dignity and mutual respect among colleagues, regardless of regional differences. “The film industry is a large family united by a shared passion for cinema,” he reminded.

About Arshad Warsi-Prabhas Controversy
Warsi’s critique of Kalki 2898 AD came during a podcast where he described Prabhas as looking “like a joker” in the film. He expressed disappointment with the film’s quality, comparing it unfavourably to high standards set by other cinematic works like Mad Max.
His remarks quickly led to backlash from fans and industry professionals. They viewed his comments as an insult to Prabhas and the Telugu film industry.
