Following their blockbuster collaboration on Jawan, the director has described the actress as his lucky charm and teased that audiences will witness a completely new avatar of the star. In a recent conversation with India Today, Atlee opened up about working with Deepika Padukone for the second time and expressed his excitement about her return to cinema. “Yes, she’s my lucky charm. This is my second film with Deepika, and she’s wonderful, she’s unbelievable,” the filmmaker shared. He suggested that the film will showcase a completely different side of Deepika, marking her return to the screen after becoming a mother.
The director’s confidence in Deepika stems from their successful partnership on Jawan, which emerged as a massive box office success in 2023. With AA22xA6, Atlee is clearly banking on the same magic to strike twice, especially as he ventures into Telugu cinema for the first time.

Deepika Padukone’s First Collaboration With Allu Arjun In AA22xA6
AA22xA6 is being positioned as a Telugu-language science fiction film directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures. The project has been generating enormous buzz since its official announcement, particularly after Deepika’s involvement was revealed. Earlier, the makers released a video officially welcoming Deepika to the project, showing her discussing the script with Atlee and preparing for the film, strongly hinting at an action-packed role.
The film is said to span two distinct universes and aims to deliver a grand visual experience. In addition to Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Kajol, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
Atlee Calls AA22xA6 His Biggest Film Yet
Speaking about the film’s progress, Atlee revealed that the team is working relentlessly behind the scenes. “Every day, we are discovering something new. I know everyone is excited to hear about the film, and honestly, I am even more excited to share it. We are spending sleepless nights working on it. We are preparing something really big, and once it’s ready, I promise the audience will enjoy it to the fullest,” he said.
Deepika Padukone’s Upcoming Work Front
AA22xA6 will be Deepika Padukone’s second Telugu pan-India film after Kalki 2898 AD, which also starred Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. She will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King starring Shah Rukh Khan, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
