Babil Khan Walks Out Of Sai Rajesh’s Film After Heated Social Media Spat: “Will Be Taking Some Time Off…”

Babil Khan confirms he is no longer part of Sai Rajesh’s upcoming film after an emotional online fallout. Actor cites self-care as top priority.

In an unexpected turn of events, Babil Khan exits Sai Rajesh’s project

Babil Khan has bowed out of Sai Rajesh’s project after months of intense online engagement that led to several difficult discussions about the mental-health implications of celebrity, creative differences between filmmaker and actor, and a host of other issues which speak to how the industry operates.

What Happened? From Your Hero To Your Villain

Many are referring to this circumstance as the fallout; it began with a video that was circulating (and still may be) of Babil Khan, the son of deceased actor Irrfan Khan, talking about the emotional strain of being a Bollywood actor, which ultimately resulted in him breaking down emotionally. In the video, Babil cited stars such as Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Shanaya Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, and Arjun Kapoor, saying he “respected them” but did not feel like he received the same regard.

Not long after, filmmaker Sai Rajesh (who was getting to set to do a film with Babil in the lead) went on Instagram with questions about his sincerity. In a post that has since been deleted, Rajesh wrote:

“Are the rest of us fools for supporting him all this time anyway?”

Babil replied to his post and put additional emphasis on the emotional strain with his devastating response in the comments:

“You broke my heart after everything I have done for you. Two whole years of my life, completely physically abusing myself to play the role you envisioned.”

Babil Khan Confirms Exit: “Taking Some Time Off…”

After the online tiff, Babil confirmed via Instagram that he had officially exited the unnamed project. He also told his followers that he would be taking a step back to focus on his mental health and healing.

In the meantime, Sai Rajesh offered a bittersweet farewell post, calling Babil “the most talented and hard-working actor” and wrote:

“I will miss my hero. I know we both will create that magic together for sure.”

Despite the fallout, Rajesh left the door open for a future collaboration.

Industry Response: Silence, Sympathy & Speculation

While some fans are backing Babil, others believe the drama reveals a deeper issue with access, validation and mental health within Bollywood’s culture. So far, none of the celebrities featured in Babil’s viral video have responded publicly.

With Babil officially out of the picture, the production team will be slotted in for another delay as the filmmaker’s efforts to recast begin. Industry sources previously revealed that filming had entered preproduction, with character designs and look tests already underway.

BoxOfficeWorldwide’s Opinion

What started out as an indie collaboration with potential has now evolved into a cautionary tale of emotional burnout, miscommunication and professional heartbreak. Babil Khan‘s vulnerability and exit demand timely repositioning of urgent questions about mental health in the industries. As for Sai Rajesh‘s project, it now hangs in limbo to be recast and healed. Sometimes, the biggest hits are the ones we never get to see.
