Himesh Reshammiya is back, bringing a full dose of retro Bollywood vibes. After much anticipation, the singer-turned-actor is returning to his role as Ravi Kumar from Anant Mahadevan’s 2014 thriller The Xpose.
This time, he’s diving deeper into the ’80s Bollywood era with his new film Badass Ravi Kumar. After the trailer dropped yesterday, the first song, “Dil Ke Taj Mahal Mein,” was released.
Badass Ravi Kumar Song ‘Dil Ke Taj Mahal Meinn’ OUT
The track is energetic and groovy, instantly making you want to move. Himesh Reshammiya, Prabhu Deva, and a group of female dancers are seen performing lively dances in the desert.
The song has a playful, romantic feel, with both Himesh and Prabhu Deva getting flirty as they groove. It’s a fun, classic Bollywood number with all the drama and excitement you’d expect.
Written and sung by Himesh Reshammiya, the song gives a nod to the ’80s music style, blending nostalgia with a fresh twist. Himesh recently shared an update about the song’s release on social media.
He wrote, “Dil ke Taj Mahal meinn song from badass Ravi kumar releasing on 6th Jan at 10:15 am, give it all your love ❤️ @himeshreshammiyamelodies, Jai Matadi Let’s rock.”
But Badass Ravi Kumar is not just about catchy songs. The film is packed with typical ’80s masala elements, including a love triangle, high-stakes violence, and some classic one-liners.
Why The Film Is Touted As ’80s Entertainer’
The love triangle centres on Himesh’s Ravi Kumar, who is torn between two women. On one side is Hansika Motwani, who previously starred with Himesh in Aap Ka Surroor. On the other side is Kirti Kulhari, known for her roles in Pink, Mission Mangal, and Four More Shots Please. Kirti’s role, inspired by Simi Garewal’s character in Karzzzz, makes her a perfect antagonist for Himesh’s character.
The action in Badass Ravi Kumar is over the top. If you thought Animal had intense violence, this film takes it even further. In one scene, Himesh swaps the famous axe from Karzzzz with a chainsaw, literally chopping through his enemies.
The film also offers some iconic, dramatic dialogues. Lines like “Tere shareer mein itna khoon nahi hoga, jitna Ravi Kumar ke baar mein moot data hai” and “Kundali mein shani, ghee ke sath honey, aur Ravi Kumar ke sath dushmani sehat ke liye hanikarak ho sakti hai” are sure to leave an impact.
Music plays a big role in setting the film’s tone. Himesh channels the style of ’80s music legends like RD Burman, while also adding his own flair. He’s also reworked his famous track “Tandoori Nights” from Karzzzz into “Tandoori Days.”
Badass Ravi Kumar is produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies and stars a talented cast, including Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, and Prabhu Deva.
