Bhuvan Bam is stepping into a new phase of his career as the creator actor has begun shooting for his Bollywood debut, Kuku Ki Kundli. After building a massive following online and expanding into acting with streaming projects, Bam is now set to lead a feature backed by Dharma Productions, a move that signals a full scale mainstream launch.
The romantic drama has started rolling in Lucknow, with the unit using multiple locations across the city to stand in for New Delhi. The update adds momentum to a project that has been closely watched since producer Karan Johar inadvertently mentioned Bam’s Dharma debut during a public conversation last year, before the actor later confirmed the film on social media.
Kuku Ki Kundli Shoot Schedule In Lucknow And Kanpur
The first schedule is currently underway in Lucknow, with the production expected to also move to Kanpur for a shorter leg. According to details shared by Hindustan Times, the shoot is planned as a month long schedule. The report also notes that the team began filming in Ansal Golf City and later shifted to a city mall. A sequence was also shot at a dharamshala in Daliganj.
Wamiqa Gabbi, who stars opposite Bam, is expected to join the Lucknow schedule soon. The film also features Manoj Pahwa and Geeta Agarwal Sharma in key roles.
How Karan Johar’s Comment First Put The Film In Spotlight
In September 2025, Johar spoke about Bam during a candid chat with comedian Zarna Garg and accidentally let slip that the YouTuber would be leading a film for Dharma. In the viral clip, Johar said, “He’s been one of the biggest YouTubers, and now he’s doing a film for us as the lead actor.” Moments later, he added, “I think I f***ed up big time. I wasn’t supposed to. It was actually a big secret, and it was a big reveal at our end. I just messed up big time.”
When asked to name the movie, Johar replied, “Now that I can’t say! Bhuvan, I am so sorry. I don’t know how it just came out of my mouth.” He further said, “Giving away Dharma secrets on this live for no reason!”
Bam confirmed the development in October 2025 with a post that read, “Sapne dekho doston, poore ho jaate hain (Dream big, friends. Dreams really do come true).”
