The makers of ‘Dunki’, the much-awaited comedy-drama by acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani, have released the teaser of the film on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday.

The film features a star-studded cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The story revolves around four friends on a journey to fulfil their dreams of going abroad. The teaser gives a sneak peek into the hilarious and touching story of ‘Dunki’, which also marks the comeback of Boman Irani as a teacher in a Rajkumar Hirani film.
Boman Irani returns as a teacher in Dunki after playing iconic roles
‘Dunki’ marks the reunion of Boman Irani with both Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly, Boman Irani in the role of a teacher has earlier won audiences in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ and the ‘Munna Bhai’ series. He also shared the screen as a professor with Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan Kunder’s ‘Main Hoon Na’ where their chemistry was immensely appreciated by cinephiles. Reuniting once again, the first glimpse of ‘Dunki’ has only soared the anticipation of fans who are eager to see them together on the big screen.
Portraying a teacher, the actor promises yet another brilliant performance highlighted by his impeccable comic timing. Boman Irani expressed his excitement about being a part of ‘Dunki’ and said, “Being a part of this special film is an honour. Boman Irani wished King Khan on his birthday with a heartwarming video, which showed clips from all their work together. In the voiceover, he joked that he always let Shah Rukh beat him up in action scenes, and never hit back at the Baadshah. He said he did this to avoid the wrath of the millions of fans who gathered outside Mannat and who would take revenge on him if he did.

‘Dunki’ is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Rajkumar Hirani Films and Jio Studios. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is set to release on December 22, 2023.
