Sunny Deol has officially joined the cast of Border 2, returning to his soldier role in the much-awaited sequel. The actor is now filming alongside Varun Dhawan in the historic cantonment areas of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
Filming for Border 2 started last month shooting his scenes. Sunny has now joined for his part in this action-packed drama. The film promises thrilling battle sequences and intense patriotic moments. Its shoot is happening in scenic yet isolated cantonment areas and promises a gripping war story.

T-series shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, featuring Sunny, Varun, director Anurag Singh, and producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. The group can be seen posing atop an armoured vehicle.

Production is progressing smoothly and T-series gave fans an update earlier this year. They posted, “Action, grit, and patriotism! Actor Varun Dhawan begins the #Border2 journey in the scenic cantonment areas of Jhansi.”
About The Film
Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 war drama Border, directed by JP Dutta. The original film was set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War and became a classic in Indian cinema. The sequel aims to carry on the legacy of the first film, with a star-studded cast, including Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, son of Suniel Shetty. It’s expected to be the “biggest war film” yet. The makers have promised even more drama and intensity in the sequel.
Sunny Deol announced the sequel last September. He expressed his excitement on social media and wrote, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.”
While Sunny has joined the shoot of Border 2, he also has projects like Jaat, Lahore 1947 lined up for release. Recently, he also made headlines for renting his Sunny villa at Juhu where Malaika Arora is expected to open a cafe.
