Call Me Bae Trailer: Ananya Panday’s Privilege Takes A Nosedive As She Learns The ‘Struggle Is REAL’ – WATCH

Call Me Bae trailer teases Ananya Panday's transformation from a privileged heiress to a middle-class hustler in a quirky dramedy.

Ananya Panday is stepping into the world of OTT with her upcoming web series Call Me Bae, and the teaser, released on Tuesday, has already created quite a buzz.

In this comedy-drama, backed by Karan Johar‘s Dharmatic Entertainment, Ananya plays a South Delhi heiress who finds herself navigating a new life as a middle-class hustler.

Ananya Panday’s Call Me Bae Trailer OUT

The trailer kicks off with Ananya’s character reflecting on her luxurious upbringing in New Delhi. However, her world comes crashing down when she discovers that all her bank accounts have been frozen, leaving her downgraded to middle-class status.

The series then follows her journey as she moves to Mumbai, where she struggles to adapt to her new reality. From trying her hand at various jobs, like social media journalism, to learning how to clean her own apartment, the once-privileged heiress finds city life to be a tough adjustment.

One memorable moment in the trailer comes towards the end, where Ananya’s character shares her struggles with a security guard. His response, “Your struggle is what our dreams are made of,” prompts her to dryly remark, “Where have I heard that one before?” This clever nod to Siddhant Chaturvedi’s viral comment on nepotism adds a playful twist to the trailer.

The trailer has sparked a wave of reactions online. One fan commented, “Finally she got a role that suits her,” while another said, “Ananya Panday is the best choice for this role, and she’s nailing it!”

However, not all feedback has been glowing, with some drawing comparisons to the character of Blair from Gossip Girl, and others highlighting the humour in the trailer’s final dialogue.
