Chhaava, the highly anticipated period drama of 2024, is again generating buzz as its official trailer clears certification. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the film explores the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky stars in the titular role and Rashmika plays his wife Yesubai.
Set for release next month, Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar and scripted by Rishi Virmani. Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is producing this epic saga.
3:10 Min Long Chhaava Trailer Certified By CBFC
The trailer, which clocks in at 3 minutes and 10 seconds, was recently certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It received a U/A 13+ rating, according to CBFC records dated October 28.
This rating indicates that the trailer (and likely the film itself) will appeal to a wide age range while delivering the intensity expected from such a powerful historical story.
Back in August, Chhaava’s teaser created a frenzy among fans, offering a brief but compelling look at Vicky as Sambhaji Maharaj, a portrayal unlike any other in his career.
The film marks his first on-screen collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna, a pairing that has already stirred up excitement among their fanbases. Adding to the intrigue, Akshaye Khanna joins the cast as Aurangzeb, promising an intense clash of characters on screen.
Vicky Kaushal Shared An Emotional Note After Wrapping Up The Film’s Shoot
Reflecting on the completion of filming, Vicky took to Instagram to share his emotions with fans, saying, “The incredibly passionate and dramatic journey of filming Chhaava couldn’t have ended without some drama. The rain Gods really put up a show today immediately after we rolled our final shot.”
He added, “There’s so much I wish to say, there’s so little I’m able to convey about this journey right now… may be in a few days when it all sinks in. All I can say now with a heart full of gratitude, love and contentment is that… IT’S A WRAP!!!”
Fans are not just excited for Chhaava’s story but also for its musical composition, scored by the legendary AR Rahman, which promises to elevate the period drama’s atmosphere and storytelling. Set to release on December 6, 2024, Chhaava will be one of the winter’s must-watch releases. It captures both historical and emotional intrigue.
Before Chhaava’s release, Vicky Kaushal is already preparing for another major project, Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This film will bring him alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, with a slated release in March 2026.
