Vicky shared the poster on Instagram, noting the significance of the date. He wrote, “On 16th January 1681, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s Rajyabhishek ceremony marked the beginning of a legendary legacy! 344 years later, we bring his story of unshaken courage and glory to life. #ChhaavaTrailer out on 22nd January! Releasing in cinemas on 14th February 2025.”

This announcement follows the teaser, which had already sparked interest. The teaser gave fans a glimpse of Vicky’s intense portrayal of the Maratha emperor. His action-packed scenes have impressed many, and the visuals of him battling soldiers added extra excitement. Both the poster and teaser promise a gripping story of courage, honour, and historical greatness.
About The Film
Chhaava tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky’s performance is one of the most anticipated parts of the film.
Vicky aims to bring something unique to the character, making it stand apart from other portrayals of Maratha kings. While comparisons to Ranveer Singh’s role in Bajirao Mastani are expected, Vicky’s performance will likely be judged on its own merits.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhonsale, the wife of Sambhaji Maharaj, bringing emotional depth to the story. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. Neil Bhoopalam will also play a Mughal prince in the film.
