Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh & R Mahavan Set To Shoot De De Pyaar De 2 In Punjab
According to a Hindustan Times report, “The first shoot schedule was in Mumbai, but then Ajay had to leave for the Son Of Sardar 2 shoot in the UK. R Madhavan, Rakul, and Ajay will shoot in Punjab for some time and then return to Bombay for the next schedule in October.”
The Punjab shoot is expected to span 15-20 days and will begin in mid-September.
In this sequel, R. Madhavan is set to play Rakul Preet Singh’s father. Sources say his character will bring a lot of humour to the table, especially in interactions with Ajay Devgn’s Ashish. The film will delve into family dynamics, with the Punjab scenes showcasing traditional and homely settings.
“The scenes in Punjab will mostly take place inside a bungalow and around the farms. The aim is to capture the beauty of the state while emphasising the family scenes,” an insider shared.
The production team is working diligently to ensure everything is wrapped up by the end of the year.
Film To Introduce New Elements To Keep The Story Of Sequel Fresh
While the first film was directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De 2 will be helmed by Anshul Sharma. Sharma aims to maintain the chemistry between Rakul Preet and Ajay Devgn from the original while introducing new elements to keep the story fresh. There are also whispers of a surprise cameo, which the makers are keeping under wraps.
The team is targeting a wrap-up by year-end, with the film scheduled for release in May next year.
