The much-anticipated Telugu film Devara, starring Jr NTR, has moved its release date to September 27, taking over the original slot for Alia Bhatt’s Jigra. This change has created a buzz among fans and the industry alike.
Telugu cinema has had a slow start this year, but expectations are high for the second half, which will feature major pan-India releases.
The excitement kicks off with Kalki 2898 AD and continues with other big films like Devara and Pushpa 2 The Rule. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara marks Jr NTR’s first film since his rise to global stardom with 2022’s RRR, making it one of the most anticipated releases.
Devara Part 1 Preponed To September 27
Devara was initially set to release in April but faced delays after Saif Ali Khan, who plays the main antagonist, suffered an injury. The release was then pushed to October 10, disappointing many fans. However, there is good news now: the film has been preponed and will hit theatres on September 27, 2024.
Announcing the new release date, the makers shared a new poster featuring JR NTR. They wrote on social media, “Sending a Warning Notice to all coasts about his early arrival ⚠️⚠️ Man of Masses @Tarak9999’s #Devara in cinemas from 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡! 🔥🔥”
The producers stated, “We are glad to announce that Devara Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, will now be released on 27th September 2024. We have planned this move keeping in mind how the film is coming together and we don’t wish to keep the fans waiting anymore.”
While this is exciting news for JR NTR fans, Alia Bhatt’s followers will be disappointed to learn that Jigra has been postponed.
Alia Bhatt’s Jigra Postponed To October 11
Jigra is one of the most anticipated movies of 2024 and features Alia Bhatt in her first collaboration with Vedang Raina. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film was initially set for a September 27 release but has now been moved to October 11.
The announcement of Jigra’s postponement was made on social media with a new poster featuring Alia Bhatt. The post read, “In Cinemas 11th October 2024.” Alia shared the poster on her Instagram with the caption, “11.10.2024 | JIGRA | See you at the movies.”
Producer Karan Johar also posted about the change, stating, “Courage comes to play when one of your own is at risk. Starring Alia Bhatt & Vedang Raina – #Jigra arrives in cinemas on 11th October, 2024.”
Both Devara and Jigra teams have shared that the decision was made amicably, as Alia and JR NTR have previously worked together in RRR and share a good rapport.
