Don 3 Row Deepens As Ranveer Singh’s Collaboration Offer To Farhan Akhtar And Zoya Akhtar Gets Turned Down

Bollywood’s Don 3 conversation has shifted from casting chatter to a larger industry equation. After Ranveer Singh’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s action franchise entry, Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the actor made an attempt to rebuild the bridge with Excel Entertainment through fresh collaborations involving Farhan and Zoya Akhtar.

The development adds a new layer to one of Bollywood’s most closely watched creative fallouts, especially because Ranveer shares a strong cinematic history with both filmmakers. He worked with Zoya in Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy, while his association with Farhan was expected to enter a major commercial zone with Don 3.

Ranveer Singh’S Offer To Farhan Akhtar And Zoya Akhtar

A source close to the development detailed Ranveer’s outreach to the Akhtar camp and Excel Entertainment.

“Ranveer offered to do another film, selected mutually by Farhan and Ranveer. Ranveer also offered to do a film with Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar, with whom he has done Gully Boy in the past.”

The same source added, “The offer was made to both Farhan and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani but was turned down immediately.”

The episode shows that the friction around Don 3 has moved beyond a single casting change. For now, the conversation is centred on whether Ranveer’s professional equation with the Akhtar camp and Excel can recover after a high profile breakdown.

Don 3 And The Excel Fallout

Don 3 was announced as the next chapter in the popular crime action franchise, with Farhan Akhtar returning as director and Excel Entertainment backing the film. Ranveer Singh had been introduced as the new face of the franchise after Shah Rukh Khan’s celebrated run in the earlier instalments.

The project became a flashpoint after Ranveer exited the film. The dispute has been linked to creative differences, production delays and issues around the final script, while Excel Entertainment also sought damages after the actor’s exit.

That makes the latest outreach significant. The immediate question is no longer only about the future of Don 3, but also about whether one of Bollywood’s most energetic leading men and one of its most influential filmmaker families can find a way back to the same creative table.

Ranveer Singh’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Ranveer Singh’s recent run has kept him firmly in the mainstream spotlight. He led Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023 opposite Alia Bhatt, a film that brought him back into the big scale romantic family entertainer space. He later returned as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film Singham Again in 2024.

In 2025, Ranveer moved into a grittier action zone with Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar, alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. The espionage arc continued with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which released theatrically on March 19, 2026. With no further confirmed theatrical release currently listed for him, the noise around Don 3 and Excel has only made his next career move more closely watched.
