Ellipsis Entertainment is known for its bold and boundary-pushing cinematic choices. The production banner is gearing up for its next ambitious project following the success of Do Aur Do Pyaar and Sharmajee Ki Beti.

It has announced an untitled film that delves into the gripping tale of the 1971 scam that rocked a State Bank of India branch in Delhi, orchestrated by the alleged double agent Rustom Nagarwala.

This upcoming film will unravel one of India’s most sensational banking scandals, meticulously investigated by Delhi police officers led by the esteemed former SHO of Chanakya Puri, Hari Dev Kaushal.

Known affectionately as Panditji, Hari Dev Kaushal was not just a proficient officer but also a revered figure in police circles, breaking stereotypes with his exemplary service. His legacy lives on through his sons, screen actors Rahul Dev and Mukul Dev. Mukul, known for his work on Hansal Mehta’s Omerta, joins Suprotim Sengupta and Kunal Aneja in scripting this compelling narrative, drawing from extensive research.

Here’s What Ellipsis Entertainment Founders Said

Ellipsis Entertainment is currently in the process of casting for the pivotal role of Hari Dev Kaushal, aiming to assemble an ensemble that will breathe life into the various key characters involved in the case.

Commenting on the project, Ellipsis partner Tanuj Garg expressed his excitement, stating, “As a fervent admirer of the espionage genre, I was captivated by the enigmatic details of this case. The mysterious deaths of several linked individuals following the incident add layers of intrigue. We are eager to finalize our cast and commence filming soon.”

Photography veteran Atul Kasbekar, reflecting on his early career interactions with Rahul and Mukul Dev, shared, “Having worked closely with their father, Hari Dev Ji, I am moved by the poetic alignment of his life story becoming the cornerstone of this film.”

The untitled film promises to be a riveting exploration of crime, intrigue, and the complexities of human nature, set against the backdrop of a historic financial scandal that continues to resonate in India’s collective memory.
