Ahan Shetty is all set for his next big-screen project, Sanki, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala‘s banner. Initially scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day 2025, details about the film’s progress have been relatively quiet.
Recently, speculation arose on July 16 that Sanki might be delayed due to concerns over Ahan Shetty’s expensive entourage costs.
Sanki Was Reported To Face Delay Due To Ahan Shetty’s Expensive Entourage Cost
According to Bollywood Hungama, sources previously indicated that Sajid Nadiadwala, in a supportive move after Ahan Shetty’s debut film Tadap received a mixed reception, had cast Pooja Hegde opposite him in Sanki. This decision aimed to steer Ahan’s career back on track. However, concerns over the film’s financial feasibility surfaced, exacerbated by the current market conditions impacting satellite and digital rights sales.
Reports noted that while digital rights were secured, revenues from satellite and digital platforms did not meet expectations. Additionally, the significant expenses associated with Ahan’s entourage—ranging from hair and makeup to a stylist, driver, chef, and trainer—added strain to the film’s budget.
These financial challenges reportedly led Sajid Nadiadwala to consider pausing Sanki, citing economic concerns. Ahan’s father & actor Suniel Shetty intervened to support the project, reportedly offering to assist with covering costs and urging Sajid not to abandon the film.
Sajid Nadiadwala Dismissed The Reports & Confirmed Aug Shoot
Responding promptly, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment took to their official social media to clarify, “We are commencing #Sanki on August 18. We urge all media outlets to verify with us before publishing any rumours!” This statement dispelled uncertainties and provided a clear update on the film’s shooting schedule.

For those unfamiliar, Ahan Shetty debuted in 2021 with Tadap, directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Co-starring Tara Sutaria, the film elicited varied responses to Ahan’s performance.
