Tiger 3 actor Emraan Hashmi set the picturesque town of Baramulla abuzz as he geared up for his latest cinematic venture, Ground Zero. Clad in military attire, Hashmi, accompanied by a contingent of J&K police and army personnel, plunged into the shooting fray on Sunday, sending fans into a frenzy.
The historic town, steeped in its own narrative, lent an enchanting backdrop to the unfolding drama, reaffirming Kashmir’s allure as a coveted filming destination for Bollywood. From timeless classics like Kashmir Ki Kali to recent blockbusters such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the valley has etched its mark in the annals of Indian cinema.

Emraan Hashmi Starrer Ground Zero Brought Employment To Over 200 Youths In Kashmir
However, Hashmi’s foray into Old Baramulla transcends the glitz and glamour of the silver screen. Once a hotbed for militants and stone pelters, the area now witnesses a different kind of hustle and bustle – that of film crews and aspiring actors.
A local artist involved in the production shed light on the transformative impact of Ground Zero, revealing that over 200 Kashmiri youths, some with past involvements in anti-national activities, have found employment opportunities through the film. This endeavour, he stressed, signals a stride toward reconciliation and development in the strife-torn region.
An elderly participant in the film expressed hope for peace to continue in Kashmir.
Emraan Hashmi’s Work Front
Emraan Hashmi was last seen in Tiger 3 and Showtime. As per the reports, he will essay the role of an army officer embroiled in the complexities of Kashmir.
Ground Zero not only signifies a creative collaboration between Excel Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi but also introduces actors Sai Tamhankar and Mukesh Tiwari in supporting roles.
Emraan has a tight schedule as he will be making his Telugu debut with They Call Him OG, directed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar, renowned for Marathi hits like Ajinkya and Bucket List.
Produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment, co-owned by actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Ground Zero promises to be filled with drama, action, and the timeless quest for peace in the valley. The release fate of the film has not been announced yet.
