Actor Emraan Hashmi, known for his roles in films like Tiger 3 and Ae Watan Mere Watan, is currently promoting his new web series, Showtime.
In a candid interview with The Lallantop, Emraan shared some intriguing anecdotes about his interactions with Bollywood heavyweights Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Emraan Hashmi Calls Himself ‘Big Fan’ Of SRK
Recalling his first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan in 2003, Emraan said, “I first met SRK on the sets of my film Murder. He had come to meet (Mahesh) Bhatt sahab. I was inside, giving my shot, and he waved to me, gave a thumbs-up sign, and said something like, ‘You are doing well’. I don’t know if he had seen Footpath (2003 film), but that was very encouraging for me, because I am a very big SRK fan, and that’s how my first meeting with SRK was.”
Years later, when Shah Rukh produced the Netflix series Bard of Blood, Emraan had the chance to work closely with him. Emraan shared, “I had gone to his house, and we sat and watched some episodes together. We also discussed the show because he was the producer, and his observations were very valuable to us.”
Actor Says Salman Khan Has His Own Time & Schedule For Shoots
Emraan also spoke about his experiences working with Salman Khan on Tiger 3. Addressing a fan question about Salman’s reputed tardiness, Emraan laughed and said, “I’d say he has his own schedule. He has his own timing and schedule, but he is one of the best people to work with. He is very fond of me, and I am very fond of him.”
Despite not being close friends, Emraan mentioned the mutual respect they share. “We are not friends but there is mutual respect. When we were shooting together, sitting together on sets, it felt like I was talking to a friend. He is a lot more senior than me, but we both have grown around the same neighbourhood of Bandra. We also talk about fitness. It is easy to converse with him; there are times when you feel a certain kind of ease with some people. I feel that way with Salman,” Emraan concluded.
Salman’s punctuality, or lack thereof, has been a topic of discussion among his co-stars. Kubbra Sait once told Bollywood Hungama that Salman would arrive on the sets of Ready in the afternoon and call for lunch before starting work.
Similarly, actor Jason Shah recalled that on Partner, the producer would plead with Salman to start working after waiting for him all morning. Grusha Kapoor, reflecting on her experience with Salman during the filming of Jaanam Samjha Karo, admitted to becoming very impatient after being made to wait for hours.
Despite this, Emraan’s experiences highlight a different side of Salman Khan.
Emraan Hashmi’s latest web series, Showtime, is generating buzz as he promotes it across various platforms. The Vol 2 of this series started streaming on July 12 on Disney+ Hotstar.
