Fans of Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan’s films are in for a treat as the actor-director duo is set to collaborate for the third time after the successful films Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
Announcement of Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan’s third film tomorrow
The announcement of their new project will be made tomorrow by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions, which has backed both their previous films.
While the details of the film are still under wraps, sources say that it will be different from their earlier rom-coms and will showcase Varun in a new avatar. The film is expected to go on floors later this year and will release in 2025.

Varun and Shashank have a great rapport and chemistry, which reflects in their films. They have delivered two hits together, which were both part of the Dulhania franchise. The fans are eagerly waiting for their hat-trick film, which promises to be another entertainer.
Varun Dhawan And Janhvi Kapoor To Star In This Rom-Com, Directed By Shashank Khaitan?
Recently, there have been multiple reports of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor collaborating from ‘Dulhania 3’ to David Dhawan’s upcoming comic entertainer, but as per reports they’re uniting for a standalone rom com and not Dulhania 3.
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have previously worked together in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal which released last year. This film is rumoured to be their second collaboration. Shashank Khaitan, who has worked with Varun Dhawan on the first two installments of the Dulhania franchise, will direct this film.
“When it’s Shashank and Varun, everyone assumes the film to be a part of the Dulhania franchise. Over the last year, Shashank has developed a fresh romantic comedy with a quirky title and is in advanced stages of discussion with Varun and Janhvi to play the lead. It will be quintessential romantic comedy that the Hindi Film Industry is known for over the years,” revealed a source to Pinkvilla.

Two new actors to be launched with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi?
Besides Varun and Janhvi, the filmmaker is also rumoured to be looking for another pair of actors to play a couple in the movie, and it’s being said that a few fresh faces are being considered for the same. Reportedly, Varun and Janhvi’s characters are going to be engaged in a past or extramarital affair with them.
As per media reports, Karan Johar production is scheduled to begin filming in September 2024 and will have a marathon schedule at real locations throughout India.
“The team is working on giving finishing touches to the script and intends to roll from the end of September 2024. It will be a big release in 2025 and will celebrate love, and relationship with a tadka,” the source added.
Varun Dhawan is currently busy with his upcoming project directed by Kalees and produced by Murad Khetani and Atlee. Before moving on to Shashank Khaitan’s film, Varun will complete shooting for his father David Dhawan’s next comedy, which is presently in the pre-production stage. The father-son duo is expected to roll from March / April 2024 and are on the verge of casting two actresses.
