Director Anubhav Sinha brought together 12 well-known names together for his next film Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, backed by Sony Pictures Networks Productions (SPNP). The cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Pankaj Tripathi, Vinay Pathak, Pavan Malhotra, Divya Dutta, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Richa Chadha, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Cyrus Broacha, Prateik Babbar and Shriya Pilgaonkar.
Written and directed by Sinha, the film is a satirical ride into the circus of coalition politics. Film was shot in Lucknow in 2018-19. It’s been 4 years and there is no news on this film.
Here we bring you EXCLUSIVE on this film. Film was finished long back but when producers Sony Pictures saw the film, they were afraid that this will create big controversy in political corridors. There are instances like recently released Anubhav Sinha film ‘Bheed’ or Prime show ‘Taandav’ where content irked current establishment.
It seems very tough that this film will see light of the day anytime soon. It must be an intriguing political film going by past record of Anubhav Sinha and such a stellar cast. We can’t wait to watch such film but current scenario makes it very unlikely.
Earlier in 2018 producers were excited about this film. “This story is very close to my heart and when I started writing it, I finished it in one go. I narrated this story to SPNP and I am glad Sneha Rajani and her team instantly fell in love with the subject. I think the casting has been a great asset for this film as it’s impossible to imagine all these supremely talented actors coming together in one frame,” said Anubhav Sinha.

It is sad situation for makers where honest content is difficult put out.
