The road trip film Jee Le Zaraa has been in the news since its announcement in 2021. Bringing together a dream cast of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt, the film was supposed to mark the return of Farhan Akhtar to direction. However, the project has faced multiple delays and has not gone on the floors yet.
Recently, while promoting his film 120 Bahadur, Farhan opened up about this difficult phase. He shared that he was all set to start the film after Toofaan, but it kept getting pushed. For two years, he did not take up any other work as he wanted to focus solely on direction.
Dealing With Insecurities
The constant delays started affecting him mentally. He revealed that he felt he was wasting precious time as two and a half years passed by without any shoot. He also admitted to having personal insecurities. He started worrying that people might think he is no longer capable of directing, as it had been 12 years since his last directorial.
He even sought therapy to understand these feelings better. It was a stressful time for him as he had turned down acting offers, telling everyone that he would be directing soon. But with the schedule moving back repeatedly, he found himself in a tough spot.
Is The Film Shelved?
Despite the long wait, Farhan Akhtar has assured fans that the film is not shelved. He clarified that the project is currently on the back burner, but will definitely be made. He mentioned that a lot of pre-production work is already done, including location scouting and music recording.
He said that the script is too good to let go of. While he could not give a timeline or confirm if the cast would remain the same, he was positive that Jee Le Zaraa would happen. It is just a matter of time before they get back to it.
