For nearly eight years, Bollywood fans have eagerly awaited the return of Fawad Khan to the Hindi silver screen. The Pakistani heartthrob last graced Bollywood in 2016’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Now, according to reports, Fawad Khan is all set to make a grand comeback! He is reportedly set to star alongside Vaani Kapoor in an upcoming film, marking his much-anticipated return to Bollywood.
Shooting For Fawad Khan & Vaani Kapoor Starrer Begins In September
Sources have confirmed that the film is gearing up for production, with London as the initial shooting location. While details about the project are tightly under wraps, insiders suggest that the producers are strategically planning the announcement to maximize its impact.
“Fawad Khan has a massive international pull given his popularity amongst South Asians worldwide. He has also been a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. Details of this project are being kept under wraps and everyone is tight-lipped about it. The producers will announce this project just before it starts its filming schedule in the UK,” a close source told Bollywood Hungama.
“Vaani Kapoor was a perfect choice for the project, given her impressive filmography and ability to avoid overexposure in the industry. The makers sought fresh casting dynamics, envisioning Fawad falling in love with a stunning Indian heroine, and Vaani fit the bill perfectly,” the source added.

The romantic comedy explores the journey of two individuals who, by a stroke of luck, find themselves helping each other unknowingly, with love blossoming as a natural consequence of their electric connection.
Fawad Khan’s absence from Bollywood stemmed from political tensions between India and Pakistan in 2016, following the Uri attack. The ensuing restrictions on Pakistani actors working in India led to his departure from ongoing projects, leaving fans disheartened. However, Fawad Khan continued to shine in Pakistan’s highest-grossing film, The Legend of Maula Jatt, and the international series Ms. Marvel.
Fawad Khan & Vaani Kapoor’s Work Front
Fawad Khan has a busy lineup ahead in the coming months. First up is Barzakh, a project in collaboration with ZEE5 and Zindagi, slated for a global release on July 19. Following this, he is expected to appear in Shandur, which is reportedly set for release on SonyLIV. Additionally, he is involved in Pakistan’s inaugural Netflix venture, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo. Notably, Fawad Khan is also producing and starring alongside Mahira Khan in Neelofar.
Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor has her hands full with several exciting projects. She will star alongside Ajay Devgn in Raid 2, feature alongside Akshay Kumar in Khel Khel Mein, and also appear in Mandala Murders.
