Taking to Instagram, filmmaker Todd Phillips revealed the first look of Lady Gaga’s character on Valentine’s day. She is understood to be playing DC mainstay Harley Quinn in the Joker’s sequel, the 2019 film that grossed $1 billion and received star Joaquin Phoenix a best actor Oscar.
The shooting has been going in New York and Los Angeles as it moves to Oct. 4, 2024 date from Warner Bros. Gaga earlier worked with Phillips on A Star Is Born, which he produced.
The sequel comes amid a transition for DC, with recently installed DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran creating a slate of film, TV, animation and video game projects that will all occur in a shared universe.
Philips wrote with Scott Silver and he shared looks at Phoenix, a tradition he has been abiding when on Dec. 10 he revealed on Instagram to proclaim that filming went on floors with a photo of his key man.
