Exclusive: From Abhishek Bachchan to Athiya Shetty, these starkids proved that you need more than just connections to make it big in Bollywood

The industry has always given chances to starkids irrespective of the fact if they deserve it or not.

Bollywood is literally obsessed with Starkids and now the industry is popularly known for Nepotism. The industry has always given chances to starkids irrespective of the fact if they deserve it or not. But not all of them are undeserving; some of them have proved to be real gems, if we take names then Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and so on. But there are some of them who failed brutally and proved that you need more than just connections to make your mark in the industry.

Abhishek bachchan in Refugee:

The movie is about a guy called “Refugee” who lives in a village on the Indo-Pakistan border and helps Muslim refugees from Bangladesh to cross over to Pakistan where they hope they will have a better chance of a life free from oppression. The movie garnered attention for its songs and Kareena Kapoor. The audience appreciated Abhishek’s character in the film, but yet they didn’t find the movie up to the mark.

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor in Mirziya:

The movie revolves around childhood sweethearts Munish and Suchitra who get separated while growing up. Their romance reignites when they meet as adults, but she is engaged to the local prince. Harshvarrdhan might have tried very hard but in some instances, his performance didn’t do justice to his character.

Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak:

Dhadak is a remake of the Marathi film Sairat which was a blockbuster hit. After watching the movie, even the audience thought it was the worst remake. Janhvi performs well in her debut film in the role of Parvathi, the daughter of a politician from an upper-caste family. But the audience wasn’t satisfied with the whole plot and storyline of the movie and the way the makers conveyed it. The movie received intense criticism and backlash for the same.

Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi in Hero:

Both Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi made their debut under the banner of Salman Khan Films. Salman Khan tried his level best to launch and promote these star kids, but the storyline of the movie was so common that the audience didn’t find it interesting, while the acting of both the starkids wasn’t that appealing. And the movie brutally failed at the Box Office too.
