‘This Is Harassment’: Hansal Mehta Expresses Frustration, Calls Out Officials After Daughter’s Aadhaar Card Application Denied

Hansal Mehta has called out Aadhaar officials for purposely delaying and denying her daughter's application with stupid excuses.

Scoop director Hansal Mehta has voiced his frustration with government officials over his daughter’s struggles to secure an Aadhaar card. On Wednesday morning, Mehta took to X (formerly Twitter) to describe the ordeal as “harassment” and criticised the inefficiency of the Aadhaar office in Andheri East.

Hansal Mehta Calls Out Aadhaar Official For Denying His Daughter’s Application

According to Mehta’s post, his daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhaar card for the past three weeks. Despite multiple visits to the office, she has faced repeated setbacks.

“My daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhaar card since past 3 weeks. She makes the long trek to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East braving rains, going early enough and the senior manager there keeps sending her back on some pretext or the other. Get this signed, get this document, the stamp is not in the correct place, you don’t have an appointment today, I am on leave for a week…” Mehta wrote in his tweet.

The filmmaker expressed his frustration, stating that the situation had become “most frustrating and nothing short of harassment.”

His post quickly went viral, with many netizens chiming in to share their own experiences with bureaucratic delays. Some offered advice and support, highlighting a broader issue with administrative inefficiencies.

Scheduled to hit theatres on September 13, the film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the role of a detective named Jass Bhamra.
