Hera Pheri 3 reportedly gone on floors and fans of the iconic comedy franchise have a lot to cheer for. The cult trio Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal are reuniting under director Priyadarshan’s vision. And yes, the film’s first shot happened right in Mumbai.
Hera Pheri 3 Filming Location
According to a report by HT City, the team is currently filming at Aarey Mills in the city. This time, the direction baton is back in Priyadarshan’s hands, marking his first time ever helming a sequel. Known for classics like Hera Pheri and Hungama, the veteran filmmaker seems ready to tackle the pressure.
In a previous interview, Priyadarshan admitted that returning to Hera Pheri isn’t easy. He said, “It is going to be very challenging to make the third part because there will be too many expectations. The characters have gotten older, and accordingly, people should believe… these are important things. I am taking it as a challenge. Let’s see how it works.”
Rohan Shankar To Craft Dialogues For 3rd Instalment
The latest buzz also reveals that Rohan Shankar is handling the dialogues for the film. Shankar is known for his witty and emotional writing in films like Mimi (2021) and Luka Chuppi (2019). He has also teamed up with Priyadarshan for the upcoming horror-drama Bhooth Bangla, slated for release in 2026.
Initially, there was a lot of confusion around the casting. At one point, Farhad Samji was expected to direct Hera Pheri 3, and news of Kartik Aaryan joining the project sparked massive debates online. Paresh Rawal even confirmed Kartik’s involvement, but things shifted once Priyadarshan stepped in. Rawal later clarified that Kartik was never meant to replace Akshay Kumar and was simply being considered for a new character if the earlier version moved forward.
How Hera Pheri 3 Was Confirmed
Akshay Kumar sent birthday wishes to Priyadarshan, and the director didn’t miss the chance to make a cheeky announcement. Replying to Akshay’s post, Priyadarshan wrote, “Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay. In return, I would like to give you a gift. I am willing to do Hera Pheri 3—are you ready, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal?”
Before Hera Pheri 3 hits cinemas, fans will get to see Akshay and Paresh together in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla, alongside Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi.
