Himesh Reshammiya is stepping into an especially busy stretch as a music director, with two high-interest film assignments landing almost together. He has now come on board Vikram Bhatt’s 1920 Cold Winter and has also signed Sunny Deol’s Suryaa, giving both projects a major musical push at a time when soundtrack value is once again becoming central to mainstream Hindi cinema.
Himesh Reshammiya Returns To Vikram Bhatt’s Horror World
The Vikram Bhatt collaboration carries its own nostalgic weight. 1920 Cold Winter marks the fifth film association between Himesh Reshammiya and the filmmaker after Footpath (2003), Fear (2007), Red: The Dark Side (2007) and Dangerous Ishhq (2012). The reunion is particularly notable because Bhatt’s horror films have often leaned heavily on mood-driven songs and haunting background music to deepen their impact.
The film is being mounted as the next chapter in the 1920 universe and is backed by Anand Pandit. Ahan Shetty has been locked as the male lead, while Anya Singh and Larissa Bonesi have also joined the cast. Their pairing adds another point of interest after the two shared screen space earlier in 2026 in Border 2. The new horror drama is also expected to shift Bhatt’s visual terrain. While the director has frequently shot in Ooty for past films, this one is expected to be filmed in Mussoorie during the winter season, a setting that fits the title and tone of the story.
Sunny Deol’s Suryaa Gets Himesh On Board
At the same time, Himesh Reshammiya has also taken over music duties for Sunny Deol’s Suryaa, which is now titled Suryaa: One Man Against The System. The film is produced by Kamal Mukut and co-stars Manish Wadhwa and Ravi Kishan. Directed by M Padmakumar, it is an adaptation of the Malayalam film Joseph (2018), with Sunny Deol playing a retired cop who takes on the organ harvesting mafia.
This project marks Himesh’s third collaboration as music director on a Sunny Deol starrer after Fool & Final and Apne, both of which were released in 2007. That long gap gives Suryaa an added layer of industry curiosity, especially with Sunny continuing to headline large-scale commercial projects.
Himesh Reshammiya’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Himesh Reshammiya’s most recent screen release as an actor was Badass Ravi Kumar, which arrived in 2025. As a composer, he also remains active across multiple upcoming films through his banner Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, which has secured the music rights for both 1920 Cold Winter and Suryaa: One Man Against The System. The label is also set to release songs from titles including Gunmaaster G9, the Emraan Hashmi starrer that is scheduled for release in November 2026.
Sunny Deol, meanwhile, has stayed firmly in the theatrical conversation with Border 2 in 2026, while Ahan Shetty’s recent filmography includes Tadap (2021) and Border 2 (2026). For both stars, Suryaa and 1920 Cold Winter now add fresh momentum, with Himesh’s music emerging as a key common thread.
