Tabu and Shah Rukh Khan fans have been eagerly waiting for a reunion, but the actress recently shared why it’s not happening anytime soon. While Tabu is grabbing headlines for her role in the Hollywood teaser of Dune: The Prophecy, she’s also busy promoting her upcoming film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha with Ajay Devgn.
In a recent interview, she opened up about not working with Shah Rukh Khan again since their 2002 hit Saathiya.
Tabu On Why She & Shah Rukh Khan Never Came Together For Another Project
Tabu first shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in Saathiya, directed by Shaad Ali. They were later seen together when she made a guest appearance in a song in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om.
When asked about reuniting with SRK and why it hasn’t happened yet, Tabu explained, “I’m not a producer, I am not a director, I am not a scriptwriter, I’m really not dictating who Shah Rukh Khan works with. Okay? And which films are going to be made and which films are going to be offered to me next. I can only say yes or no from what is offered to me.”
Tabu shared that she has declined several films, and she believes Shah Rukh Khan has likely done the same. “I know what I have refused and I am sure he has also refused a few. Aisa kuch hua nahi ke our paths crossed. But I must respect the fact that a lot of people want to see me and Shah Rukh together, I will not discount all that,” she added.
Actress Shares Memories From Om Shanti Om
Tabu also shared a fond memory from the song “Deewangi Deewangi” in Om Shanti Om. She revealed that Shah Rukh Khan generously gifted expensive presents to all the celebrities who appeared in the song with him, showcasing his appreciation and generosity.

Tabu is gearing up for the release of her upcoming romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film stars Ajay Devgn alongside Tabu in their tenth collaboration. The movie also features Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar in key roles.
The story unfolds over 23 years, from 2000 to 2023, exploring the emotional journey and changing dynamics of a couple’s relationship. Ajay Devgn plays Krishna, a man caught up in multiple murders and sentenced to life imprisonment. After 22 years, Krishna longs to see Vasudha, portrayed by Tabu, leading to a final, poignant meeting.
Originally set for release on July 5, 2024, the film has been rescheduled to August 2, 2024, following requests from film exhibitors and distributors.
