The long-awaited comedy sequel, Son of Sardaar 2, kicked off filming on July 20 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Bollywood star Ajay Devgn leads the cast, with Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora at the helm. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn in collaboration with Jio Studios.
The new instalment will see Mrunal Thakur stepping into the female lead role, replacing Sonakshi Sinha from the original. Joining the returning cast, Sanjay Dutt will reprise his role, while Pankaj Tripathi and Kubbra Sait are added to the lineup.

According to Zoom/Times Now, the star-studded cast, including Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, flew out on July 18. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film is expected to bring an international touch to its high-octane comedy-action narrative.
London will feature prominently in the film, with various scenes shot across the city. The UK schedule includes several weeks of shooting at diverse locations, ranging from bustling streets for action sequences to picturesque spots for more intimate moments.

Son of Sardaar 2 follows the success of the 2012 film Son of Sardaar, which was a remake of the 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna by SS Rajamouli. The original film was a massive hit, grossing 150 crores and ranking among the top 10 highest-grossing Bollywood films of that year.
Details about the plot of Son of Sardaar 2 remain under wraps. It is unclear if Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will reprise their roles as Jassi and Balwinder Singh Sandhu, known as Billu. The sequel is expected to offer a fresh storyline, separate from where the original film ended. Fans will have to wait until 2025 for the film’s release.
