The eagerly anticipated trailer for Indian 2 finally premiered today, June 25, courtesy of Lyca Productions. Fans and cinephiles alike have been eagerly awaiting the sequel starring Kamal Haasan, which is set to grace screens in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on July 12.
Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 marks the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian, a collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Shankar that took nearly three decades to materialise. The trailer has lived up to expectations, promising an intense and thought-provoking sequel.

Clocking in at 2 minutes and 37 seconds, the Indian 2 trailer paints a stark picture of a society corroded by corruption. It highlights the frustrations of citizens grappling with a system where education and job opportunities don’t align, and hard work fails to translate into adequate salaries.
Taxpayer money seemingly disappears without a trace, while criminals operate with impunity and the rich grow richer, leaving the common man to fend for himself.
The trailer also confronts society’s tendency to blame systemic flaws without taking decisive action. Siddharth’s character reflects this sentiment, stating the need for someone to hold wrongdoers accountable.
Kamal Haasan enters as Indian/Senapathy, who appears with resolute determination to set things right, declaring his fight against corruption as “the second war for independence!”
He invokes historical figures, proclaiming, “You take the Gandhian approach. I will take Netaji’s approach,” signifying his unyielding pursuit of justice.
