Ajay Devgn and Bhushan Kumar have recently been in the news due to some apparent tension. The two major figures in the Indian film industry have had some issues, especially as their films, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, were both aiming to dominate the Diwali box office.
Ajay Devgn UPSET With Bhushan Kumar Over Singham Again Title Track Copyright
Sources close to the situation told mid-day that Devgn is upset with Kumar over a copyright issue. The problem arose when the title track of Singham Again was pulled after it faced a copyright claim.
The track had elements from the Singham (2011) title song, whose music rights were sold to T-Series, owned by Bhushan Kumar. As a result, the song was removed from YouTube and re-released after changes were made.
The Actor-Producer Duo Are Working Together On Their Upcoming Collabs
Although this could seem like a serious fallout, the situation may not be as bad as it appears. Despite the copyright issue, both Devgn and Kumar are preparing to work together on upcoming films.
One of these is Raid 2, where Bhushan Kumar is producing, and his T-Series banner is presenting. Devgn is also gearing up to start shooting for De De Pyaar De 2, another film supported by Bhushan’s production house.
Interestingly, despite the hiccup with Singham Again, the soundtrack for Ajay’s Son of Sardaar 2 has not yet been sold. This leaves room for Devgn to decide if he will continue working with Bhushan’s T-Series or partner with another label for the music.
Bhushan Kumar Recently REACTED To BB3’s Clash With Ajay Devgn Starrer Singham Again
Regarding the clash between Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Bhushan Kumar recently explained to Bollywood Hungama that both parties never intended for the two films to be released at the same time.
He mentioned that both sides tried to avoid a clash, but certain circumstances made it impossible. Kumar said that both franchises are very valuable and it was clear to both teams that the release schedules would be difficult to manage.
He also pointed out that one of the reasons for the clash was related to pre-arranged agreements with OTT platforms, which often do not allow changes to release dates. He explained that both sides had to deal with these constraints.
From a creative perspective, the timing of Singham Again’s release on Diwali made sense. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie’s theme, inspired by the Ramayana, fit well with the festive season. Kumar mentioned that the creative vision behind Singham Again was closely tied to the Diwali period, so the team wanted to stick to that release window.
For the unversed, both films were released on November 1 and are doing well at the box office.
