Rohit Shetty’s cop film universe is about to get even bigger. With Singham Again coming up, the franchise is set to introduce new stars and bring a fresh twist to the story.
The film Singham Again will not only spotlight the familiar faces of Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar but also introduce Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor into the mix. However, the biggest buzz is around the significant push for female representation.
Deepika Padukone is joining the franchise as Lady Singham and Kareena Kapoor Khan is set for a substantial role as well. Amid the excitement, Rohit Shetty shared his future plans for the cop-universe.
Rohit Shetty Planning An All-Women Cop Universe
In a recent interview with News 18 Showsha, Rohit Shetty revealed that he’s working on creating an all-women cop universe. He teased that this new project is coming “very soon.”
“There are women-oriented films in the pipeline, and it will happen very soon,” he said.
Shetty also shared some insights into the making of Singham Again. The film will feature intense hand-to-hand combat, steering away from heavy reliance on VFX.
He explained that while VFX is a popular choice globally due to its safety and convenience, he and his team prefer to keep things authentic. “We are old-school guys. For me, hand-to-hand combat will always be real,” Shetty said. He also mentioned that while there will be some CG elements, the focus remains on practical action.
About Singham Again
Singham Again is the third instalment in the Ajay Devgn-led Singham franchise and the fifth part of Shetty’s Cop Universe. The franchise began with Singham in 2011, which quickly became a fan favourite. This was followed by Singham Returns in 2014, featuring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The universe expanded with Simmba in 2018, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, and Sooryavanshi in 2021, with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
The upcoming Singham Again is set for a Diwali 2024 release and promises to be a grand spectacle with its star-studded cast, including Devgn, Kapoor Khan, Singh, Padukone, Kumar, Shroff, and Kapoor.
