To mark the 13th anniversary of their hit film Singham, Rohit Shetty took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute via a BTS video. He also revealed that Singham Again wrapped up today on Singham’s 13th anniversary.
The video posted on his official account features a blend of nostalgic moments and clips from their extensive journey together. It opens with the iconic Singham poster and transitions into a montage highlighting their shared history in cinema.
Shetty’s caption read, “13 years of Singham, 33 years of brotherhood @ajaydevgn #SinghamAgain.” He reflects on their journey, saying, “Today we complete 13 years of Singham. Look at the magic of destiny. Today, we also wrap up Singham Again with Ajay Sir. This is my 13th film with him as director. But the journey began back in the ’90s when I was working under him. Thirty-three years later, we are still going strong. See you at the cinemas.”
Ajay Devgn & Rohit Shetty’s Previous Collaborations
Their collaboration began in the early ’90s when a young Rohit Shetty worked as an assistant director on Ajay Devgn’s debut film, Phool Aur Kaante (1991). Shetty’s involvement didn’t stop there; he assisted on several other Devgn films, including Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Pyaar Toh Hona Tha, and Raju Chacha. This time spent together on set not only strengthened their working relationship but also built a deep mutual respect.
In 2003, Shetty took his first step into directing with Zameen, casting his old friend Ajay Devgn in the lead role. This collaboration marked the start of a successful partnership, resulting in multiple hits over the years. The Singham franchise, in particular, has become a significant part of their legacy, showcasing their exceptional synergy.
Their Latest Release Singham Agains Hits Theatres This Diwali
Looking ahead, Shetty and Devgn are reuniting for Singham Again, set to hit theatres during Diwali 2024. The film promises to be an exciting addition to their successful franchise, featuring a star-studded cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff. The film will also see special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh.
